Established in 2008, The Block, Tel Aviv, is widely considered the best nightclub in Israel and one of the most esteemed and praised in the world. It has won Time Out magazine's "Best Club of the Year", "Best Line of Parties of the Year" and "Best Party of the Year" awards three times in a row, until recently being eliminated from the competition, after Time Out created a new category called "Best nightclubs in Tel Aviv which are not The Block". Its international reputation is as impressive, being acknowledged as one of the "Top 5 sound systems in the world" on England’s BBC Radio 1, its iconic poster art featured on Mixmag under the headline "Best flyers in the world", and it was listed as one of "The world’s best clubs" by Nina Kraviz on InTheMix magazine, "Top 5 clubs in the world" by Danny Tenaglia, and "Best nightclub in the world" by Gilles Peterson on Electronic Beats Magazine. The key to The Block's ongoing mission to reach the ultimate immersive experience of dancefloor catharsis, is a gigantic horn loaded analog sound system, and a spare no expense custom made analog DJ mixer, designed by the club owner, former DJ and obsessive audiophile, Yaron Trax, and inspired by the great sound systems of the old New York City nightclubs of the 70's and the 80'. In the years since its inception, The Block has become both the chosen spot for a stream of leading artists in the underground club scene, and a community center for a large devoted crowd, not characterized by race, age, religion or sexual preference, but instead, united by the love of music and dance. - The club regularly hosts artists such as: Dixon, Nina Kraviz, Ben Klock, Tale Of Us, Âme, Rødhåd, Mano Le Tough, Damian Lazarus, Seth Troxler, Mind Against, Recondite, David August, Marcel Dettman, John Talabot, DJ Koze, Guy Gerber, Henrik Schwarz, and many more.
